Many of the fan-favorite locations in the series have made a comeback in Call of Duty: Mobile, and having played through more than a few of them, we can confidently say that each level feels as good as ever while you’re running your way to victory. And that’s really Call of Duty. The largest selling point for Mobile, the fact that it’s a nostalgic journey.
When you begin, you will have to work your way through a brief tutorial explaining the distinct touch-control setups of the game while diving into the many menus of the title as well. Things like altering your load out and upgrading your guns are briefly touched on, which is valued as a seasoned gamer. We hate nothing more than forced tutorials that drag on forever. Seeing a free-to-play game that doesn’t fall into that trap is refreshing. Throughout this tutorial, of course, you are still compelled to open a loot box, something that we gave Mario Kart Tour difficulty over, and is just as disgusting in this release when playing players blatantly conditioned. The game controls on Android feels fantastic, the game play is as difficult as ever (if you can get a fair game), and there is a lot of material to explore and a long upgrade route to keep players busy. If you’re a fan of the series, there’s a lot to like about here, and while monetization might be better, it’s one of the honest processes out there, even when shop prices arise.
