WhatsApp Bug Permit Hackers to Access of User’s Phone with a GIF
The malicious GIF when opened in Gallery, triggers the hack and all the contents of the apps are exploited. Even the previous chat history is also visible to the hacker. So if you have ever hurt your Ex BF or GF, its time for the revenge from their side may be. The devices that are running Android 8.1 and 9 are more prone to the hack. This malicious activity was discovered by the hacker named Awakened.
How to Fix this Bug?
Awakened urged WhatsApp users to update the app. While telling about the malicious GIF, Awkened wrote in a blog post: “WhatsApp users, please do update to latest WhatsApp version to stay safe from this bug,” So for updating WhatsApp tot the latest version, one needs to follow these steps:
iPhone Users should open the app store, click on the updates and tap update placed next to WhatsApp messenger. Android Users should go to play store, click on the menu and select my apps and games. Now click on Update next to WhatsApp messenger.
After knowing about the overall scenario, the Facebook-owned company, WhatsApp commented that: “We have no reason to believe this affected any users, though of course, we are always working to provide the latest security features to our users,” Well, what actually the matter of concern is that why WhatsApp was not able to identify the illegal pattern on its app? If such hacking activities will remain unchecked, who will ensure our privacy and our data that is saved with this app?
