The National Incubation Center Opens Applications For Its Seventh Cohort
Launched in February 2017, NIC is home to 142 startups powered by 308 entrepreneurs (55 women founders). During this time, the Jazz xlr8 accelerator has on-boarded 22 startups and helped them to scale. Over the last two years, the NIC startups have created significant economic & social impact; raised funding & generated incremental revenue close to PKR 1 billion and have generated 4,876 jobs (with 26% direct female employment), in this short span of time and have also represented Pakistan at numerous international forums. With four cohorts graduated and, fifth and sixth cohort still undergoing incubation, the National Incubation Center is all set to bring in a diverse community of innovators in its seventh cohort to Teamup. From innovative thinking to evolving into sustainable & scalable businesses, the National Incubation Center offers world – class environment enabling startups to design & implement impactful solutions. The NIC offers startups industry linkages, international partnerships giving startups the competitive advantage, enabling them to develop innovative business models in an immersive ideation environment. Startups working in areas specifically in Ed-Tech, Agri-Tech, Fin-Tech, Health-Tech Gaming, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Mixed Reality (Augmented & Virtual Reality), sports as well those working towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) among others are highly encouraged to apply. Selected startups undergo weeks of intensive curriculum exclusively designed for startups. Start-ups are trained in areas of product development, design thinking, growth hacking, financial management and how to market the product to the right audience, how to pitch to potential investors and much more. The program is focused on actionable trainings where startups are mentored by industry veterans and domain specialists from across industries specially skilled mentors from Jazz. The state-of-the-art facility fosters innovation, through one-to-one mentor sessions, tech talks, and allows startups to connect with some of the best industry experts. The NIC Alumni network is also making it big with the impact they are creating in the eco-system through global representations, winning awards locally and internationally, empowering communities by creating job opportunities. Mauqa Online, Daastan, Easy Insurance, World Of Creatives, Roamer, DeafTawk, are just a few names that have created impact and have made it big in such short span of time. Startups applying for the National Incubation Center program, can also apply to the Jazz xlr8 programs which selects startups from across the country and provides support to scale in the form of user insights, marketing support, global network of mentors, and access to Jazz’s digital platforms. The Jazz xlr8 accelerator on-boards select high growth startups and gives them the support and the training to rapidly scale. Startups part of the Jazz xlr8 program have received Jazz’s support in terms of Jazz employee mentorship, payment infrastructure and many of them have been selected to participate at the 4YFN in Barcelona to showcase their services at one of the most prolific startup and technology events in the world. The National Incubation Center is holding its Open House on Friday 29th of November, 2019, as part of its ongoing campaign for its Seventh Cohort, all aspiring entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to interact and connect with the team, mentors and the start-ups. The session will include presentations about the NIC, panel discussions followed by open ended conversations with our start-ups. Women and marginalized communities are highly encouraged to apply!
